Ultimately, no one really knows how much everyday life will be impacted by artificial intelligence in the near future. One thing that is certain is that AI is already here and is, in many ways, already integrated into our daily lives.
There’s been a lot of speculation about the impact of AI on the future of work. In many instances, this talk of the AI-work relationship is more on the negative side, pairing automation and smart technologies with a possible loss of available jobs. That is but one angle to look at, however, and AI is certainly multidimensional. As we’ve seen through history, one door closing can often lead to many other opening – it may just be a matter of time.
Natural language processing (NLP), machine learning and deep learning are frequent components of AI technology. The future is now. Both narrow and broad AI applications make use of algorithms with a backing of these types of intelligent analysis.
At this point, we’re still entranced in a bit of a wonder stage where we are still deeply pondering the ultimate effects that new technologies with have on business and on society as a whole. But although we are pondering, there is little inaction. Many institutions are embracing an AI future and making sure they won’t be playing catch-up to the rest of the world.
